The ACT Government is committed to open government and open data. The release of government data creates opportunities for innovative use and reuse of data, and allows the commercial, research and community sectors to add value. Releasing government data also assists government in making evidence-based policy and service delivery decisions, and supports increased citizen participation in government.
1. Small Extracts: Through the ACTmapi data download map map you will be able to download geospatial data over specific areas. This tool will allow you to pick an area by zooming into the map or drawing a polygon on the map and then choosing the datasets and format (shapefile (.shp), file geodatabase (.gdb), AutoCAD (.dwg, .dxf) and microstation (.dgn) you would like. Repetition will be needed if the datasets you are after are in more than one category. A full list of datasets and the categories they are grouped within are available here.
2. Search and Web Service: Through the ACT Government Geospatial Data Catalogue you will be able to search by name or key words and then either download the dataset (Spreadsheet, KML or Shapefile) or utilise the webservice (GeoJSON or GeoService). Repetition will be needed per dataset.
3. (Coming Soon) Complete Land Administration Databases: Download the complete land administration database, or by division in a CAD format below. This service will be offered through a number of projections (MGA94 zone 55, ACT Grid or GDA94 lat/long).
